WebGL Select Sprites by Texture

Tap the Canvas to Select a Sprite from the 3D Scene

Swipe to View the Landscape and Move the Sprites

This Web page demonstrates a technique to select sprites by texture within a WebGL environment. No need for complicated unproject or other ray picking algorithms. Try it out. Tap the canvas to pick a sprite from the scene.

Swipe to view the background. Square sprites spin around. Environment background, sprite graphics, and sprite identification are all stored in one texture for efficiency. This simple demonstration uses square sprites, however use any WebGL acceptable mesh as a sprite. Read the Interactive Texture Tutorial.
